For this submission, I chose to share the song The Four Seasons composed and performed by Lei Qiang, a Traditional Chinese musician. This piece is characterized by a rich heterophonic texture led by a higher pitched chordophone, alongside multiple plucked instruments and a percussion instrument, creating a clicking noise, that drives the song through the phrases. There is a feeling of steady forward movement within the song, with little variation of dynamic level or pitch, which implies that this song may be intended for simple enjoyment purposes. I personally selected this piece because it was already on my playlist that I use for studying; the pleasantness and consistency of the melody tend to calm my mind and aid in focus with my work. Overall, I believe this to be a masterfully crafted composition and hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
