The song I selected is from the Sudan rap genre. As I’ve said before in this course rap music is the primary genre that I listen to and on Tim Tok actually I’ve stumbled across some rap from Sudan in the past. Not so much was it the words that I was listening to (because I can’t really understand it without subtitles) but the use of the beats and different sounds you hear is pretty cool. I liked the song I chose because it was an actual music video rather than just lyrics or a blank page playing the song. So that’s really what caught my eye in this piece.
