Trịnh Trần Phương Tuấn, known as “Jack” on stage, is a Vietnamese artist who only started making music in 2019. His music style can be classified as “V-Pop, Pop, Rap”.

“Hồng Nhan” was the first song Jack produced that really got him in the spotlight. This song’s lyrics translate a story of a long-distance relationship, and the hardships that come with being separated from a partner.

I chose this song because I really appreciated the quality of the song since the very beginning. I really like the groovy layer of sounds behind the soft-spoken lyrics. The beginning has so many different components/instruments/sounds. This song has the solid baseline that I, personally, always look for in songs. This song feels so influenced by Western-style music because it feels like it could be counted in 4/4. It’s a very steady, easy-to-follow beat for the entire song.

This might be one I add to my playlists…

“Đời người là kiếp lãng du, anh chẳng may làm lữ khách

Đi với nhau cả 1 hành trình, giờ có xa chẳng nỡ trách”

“Human life is a wandering life, I am unfortunately a traveler

Going on a journey together, now it’s too far to blame”
