The song I selected was a very interesting one to me and definitely one outside of my usual musical preference. I chose it though because of the title. I did some research on what some of the top music styles are in South Asia and I saw that a lot of it is based on spiritual and religious beliefs. So with this information I figured this type of music held strong meaning behind it and was made for a reason. I went to YouTube and heard a few examples but the one I chose really stuck out to me because they really highlight how powerful the singers voice is. Obviously I can’t interpret what is going on and I couldn’t find who she is to the culture but I’m assuming she’s someone important/powerful. The percussion sounds in the back are what I liked most about this song. All around though it is cool music and one I wouldn’t have expected myself to listen to.
