This is a Hawaiian traditional chant. What I noticed first/my first impression was a wooden instrument(I don’t know what it is), and the rhythm didn’t change as much, it’s very steady with the females chanting. At first it was a single male voice, then the group of females started chanting and dancing, it seemed as if it was a call and response. I also noticed some handclaps as well. What I liked and why I chose this chant was the rhythm and the dancing along with it because it was very catchy, while getting a visual of their cultural dancing and chanting. The people in this video seem very passionate about what they’re doing, and I love hearing different cultured music, it’s something else that I can listen to than to music I usually listen too.
