(2) “Halala Syanibongela” – UniZulu Choir (University of Zululand, South Africa) – YouTube

This piece is called “Halala Syanibongela”, and it’s performed by the UniZulu Choir from the University of Zululand of South Africa.  The piece does not include any instruments and only includes a solo voice and a choir.  The soloist sings out words first, then the choir sings those same words back, as if it is a call and response.  And this happens through the entire piece.  According to what it says in the description of the video, it is a celebratory song that is sung for weddings, graduations, and parties.  It also includes dancing at the end of the piece which is called Zulu dancing.  It is a very traditional dance style found across Africa.
