This song is from a musician who was born in Mali and while it is not an area we have talked about in class, it was mentioned in the film “Throw Down Your Heart”. The artist lived through a rough life where he didn’t successfully profit from his music until thirty years after starting. This song has a nice, steady rhythm that leads to a calm feeling that is provided by just guitars and vocals. This song has some of the same feelings that a song on the radio might give you here in the West. I chose this song because it is something that I could easily find myself listening to on repeat.
