Crash and Burn is a song by country singer Thomas Rhett.  I chose this piece because my sister loves the “country-pop” genre and Thomas Rhett, and I have a great deal of popular country music knowledge from her.  This song is especially unique because it is technically part of the country genre, but I would be surprised if anyone would guess that without prior knowledge.  The instrumentation is synthesized, and it has a strong beat that is characteristic of pop music.  The only aspect of traditional country music I can find is that the voice is more important musically than the instrumentation.  Another interesting aspect about this piece is the music video itself, which seems to spend equal parts showing the singer and telling a story.
