This song was created and sung by Stella Chiweshe. This song is a traditional song in Zimbabwe. Some instruments that were being played, was some skinny woods with a ball stick, that looked like a piano, that were being played by some men at the very start. Which I believe it’s called a vibrophone. There’s also clapping from the audience, who are doing it in rhythm as well. That was the only instrument that they were playing. Furthermore, there was also dancing from the singer and some of the performers that were behind her too. Some descriptions of the musical characteristics of the song, is that when Stella Chiweshe starts singing, she was singing loud and somewhat fast paced. After she pauses for a little bit, the men chant or say something back. This seemed as if they were saying something back to her, that could mean something. Such as a story, or a response from what the song is about, from what she was singing. Another description was the instrument. They were playing it really fast, but the sound was a bit soft and as bumpy. Overall, the music was getting loud crescendo little by little. I think the purpose of the song was a type of story, that could of been related to the country itself, or just a story in particular. The reason why I chose this song, was because it was interesting the way the singer was singing, and then others chanting back. There was harmony and rhythm in this song, from the start to the very end. I found this in youtube.
