The song I chose was MIC Drop by the famous music group called BTS, also known as the Bangtan Boys. MIC Drop is in the genre categories of Korea Dance/Electronic, Pop/K-Pop. BTS is a South Korean music group that consists of 7 male members formed in 2010. Western music has inspired BTS, as many of their songs incorporate musical aspects and vocals strong within western music. I chose the song MIC Drop because I have heard BTS before, especially as they have done many covers for songs popular songs in the United States, such as butter and dynamite. It is fantastic that BTS incorporates a mixture of their South Korean culture with their interests in western music! The song MIC Drop caught American DJ Steve Aoki’s attention and created a remix to go on to top the billboard charts! MIC Drop has an energetic beat, sound, and various musical styles incorporated into such a fun and danceable song!
