I chose “Beyond the Sea” by Bobby Darin for this assignment, a timeless classic originating from Charles Trenet’s “La Mer” in 1946. Darin’s adaptation serves as a remarkable representation of the big band and swing era, showcasing the essence of American-made music with its distinctive jazz elements. In this song I can hear a variety of saxophones, trumpets, trombones, a variety of percussion instruments, and Bobby Darin singing. The reason I chose this song is because it gives a great representation of American-made music.
