Bao Lao, Sao Thai is a pop song originating in Laos. I found this recording in a deep dive of Laos music and I thought the vocals and instrumentation was mesmerizing due to what instruments seemed to have the lead. The most prominent instrument besides the voice that you can hear is the steady cowbell as well as a flute-like instrument over the top and during vocal breaks. The voices move back and forth between the male singer and the female singer. There are parts in the song where the voices would join and sing together harmoniously. Throughout the video, you can see the male and female vocalists doing dances together while singing. In the middle of the piece there is a break where it is only instruments and then the voices come back in starting with the male vocalist.
