I chose this piece called Arirang Special Korean Music Fest Samulnori because it’s a samulnori as the title says. A samulnori is a performance by a group of four or more people, who each have their own different instruments. This piece is all percussion instruments, some that are all metal and some that aren’t, it is also only performed by 4 members. The instruments in this piece are supposed to symbolize the elements. We have the janggu that represents the rain, the buk that represents the clouds, the jing hat represents the wind, and finally the kkwaenggwari that represents thunder. This piece comes together harmoniously.
