I chose the song Aoi Sangoshou sung by Seiko Matsuda from Japan. This song was released in 1980 and has a very happy upbeat feeling to it. It starts out with a piano and drums in the background and the Seiko Matsuda starts to sing but right before she begins the instruments have a trill kind of like an introduction to her singing. The title translates to Blue Lagoon and the song was actually used in an ice cream commercial in Japan. The whole song just has a joyful vibe especially when the melody is very high and bright and accompanied by a higher pitched voice which carries and resonates the notes. I chose this example because I liked the cheery disposition of it and the chorus sounded very nice.
