The piece I chose is a compilation of many Arabic and Egyptian pieces composed by Derek and Brandon Fiechter. The specific piece I am choosing to focus on in this compilation is Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves. Within our discussion in class we talked about Aladdin reminding us of Arabic music so I tried to find traditionally Arabian songs to see how they contrasted. I then found this piece and recognized some of the instruments as being native to this music culture.
