“A Thousand Hallelujahs” is a Christian worship song written by Brooke Ligertwood. Ligertwood was born in New Zealand and is a member of the Christian band Hillsong Worship, which is based in Australia. She has written several notable songs, including “What a Beautiful Name” and “King of Kings”. I had previously heard of Brooke Ligertwood and Hillsong Worship, and “A Thousand Hallelujahs” is one of my favorite songs of theirs. 

This song uses contemporary instruments including drums, keyboard, and guitar. Ligertwood is the featured vocalist, but there are dozens of backup vocalists.
