This song is upbeat from the very start and creates a hopeful happy tone. The instruments like guitar, bass, maybe some kind of keyboard, drums, and clapping help create the faster-paced beat of the music. I believe the keyboard is creating those higher notes that complement the other instruments and create rhythm throughout the song. The beat is pretty fast throughout the song but there are a couple of times when the beat slows down a bit like right before the chorus and then a verse that is a little slower but after both parts of the song it speeds right back up. The vocals in this song are impressive. This is an all-male group but it is in a pretty high range for most males and all the vocalist’s voices blend nicely.
I chose this song because I first heard it in one of my Spanish classes in high school. We used to do a “March Madness” bracket but with songs from Spanish-speaking countries. I was drawn to this song due to the upbeat tempo and the boyband feel of the song. My favorite part of the song is that pause right before the chorus when it is only vocals. This song is about confessing love and the desire for wanting a relationship to work and I think that pause just adds a level of confidence to the meaning of the song while creating a unique rhythmic element. The vocal echoing toward the end of the song is also another part of the song that I enjoy. I know this isn’t an element of the music but the music video is also very fun for this song! Overall I just love how this song puts me in a good mood.
