Gangnam Style – PSY

I chose to use the song Gangnam Style, as many of us have heard this song before! The song was sung by PSY, which is considered a K-pop group that is very popular in Southeast Asia as well as many European countries! 

As we see in the music video provided to us through the YouTube link, listed below we can see many of the Southeast Asia cultural phenomena within the dances and even just the items in the background used as props. In addition, this music video was awarded the MTV Europe Music Awards a couple of years ago, primarily based on the many different individuals, groups, and organizations that all seemed to come together as one. 

Music in Southeast Asia is going to be a very important daily lifestyle. Music can be contributed to ceremonies that are mostly related to religion, the well-being of the states, community festivals, and family affairs, like funerals, and celebrations of life!
