This song is Across Thailand by Jaya Satria. In this song the melody is played by a chordophone, possibly a lute or something similar; it had a higher, almost reedy tone to it, and lots of quick note changes and vibrato. The beat is kept steady by a membranophone in the background, a clap that sounds similar to a tambourine, as well as the high chime of what sounds like some sort of bell. I liked the simplicity of the instrumentation, with there being the main string melody and the few percussive tones to support it. I was particularly drawn to the tempo change in the second half. At the end of the song, the song gets considerably faster and continues to speed up until a point where the tempo then falls back to end the piece.
