The song Moko ‘O Keawe was written in 1894 by Emalia Kaihumua while she was performing in America.  Emalia was a hula performer, and she wrote this as a song of longing for her homeland of Hawaii and her desire to return.  This longing is evident in the poetic lyrics, “The biting cold is like a lover inviting me, ‘turn and come back.'”  I picked this song because it had beautiful lyrics and an interesting musical composition.  In addition, the theme of longing for home stood out to me, and I could feel that message illustrated in the music.  In this version, the ukulele is the main instrument, and the male vocal line often flips between his lower register and falsetto.
