This is a 1982 song by The Tetragrammaton, written and composed by Joel Kirschke Mohamed. The title “El Djihad” refers to the Islamic concept of jihad, which is often viewed in political ways as a struggle for justice, rights, and liberation, though in religious contexts it means “striving” or “exerting effort” for God, primarily referring to an inner moral struggle (the “greater jihad”) and, secondarily, a regulated form of armed self‑defense (the “lesser jihad”) governed by strict ethical rules.

I chose this song because it’s a pretty popular song from the Middle East and I really enjoy the sound of it and the pace. It’s a faster paced song with multiple male singers (or one singer layered over), which makes it kind of hard to tell if there are any instruments used in the song because most of the “beat” or background noise comes from the singers.
