Recht Schlääzig, from the album: Appenzeller Grüsse orignates from Switzerland and even more specific, the region called the Canton of Berne. The song begins with a violin playing a few notes and then a shaker of some sort (it could be a tambourine?) which makes the music feel very polka like. This Swiss polka does not necessarily play in rounds, but it has a sense of similarity within the phrases that gives the piece the drive that listeners can feel. It feels very swung and legato, making it a wonderful song for dance rituals. There is not too much to this song, as it is similar throughout but I enjoyed the upbeat feeling it portrays. It is strictly instrumental but is intriguing to listen to nonetheless. 🙂
