The song offers a blend of styles that borrow from Indian music, fusing transcontinental tonalities into jazz funk. It uses keyboards and guitar, along with traditional sarod and tablas to combine Western music with Eastern music, hence the title of the song. Rupa herself is of Indian descent and is the main instrumentalist playing the traditional sarod in the song. The reason I chose this song is because of how it combines two differing musical systems to create jazz funk, which is something not usually associated with South Asian music. You get both aspects of the West and East, specifically South Asia, within one song.
