I picked this song because I am really into electronic music and club tracks. More so I am into EDM and this song gave me that vibe and I enjoyed it. I researched that this is a Berlin-based electronic dance music group and Moderat’s second full-length album, “II,” bridges the gap between commercial electronic music and club tracks. Which I found this crossover between the two genres very interesting. ‘Bad Kingdom’ is a song that highlights Moderat’s sound, and the whole album has a few different styles that come together as one. I also read that this crossover between genres inspired a new generation of musicians, including Jon Hopkins, Floating Points, and Tourist. Which this demonstrates the endless opportunities of electronic music and where you can take it. I haven’t checked these other artists out but I will have to soon!
