“Don’t Start Now,” the lead single off of the album Future Nostalgia by Dua Lipa was released in November 2019 and eventually rose to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart in Febraury 2020. Dua Lipa, an artist from England with family ties to Kosovo, Albania, based this album off of the music she listened to in the 70s and 80s growing up. Her dad, who led the Kosovan rock band Oda was one of her musical influences, as well as European house and electronic artists such as the music of French duo Daft Punk, Moloko, and a handful of American artists. I chose this song because I love the bass line, and the lyrics are super catchy. Dua Lipa is one of many pop artists in my regular listening rotation, and I thought she would be perfect for a European song share. Hope you enjoy!
