I chose this example because I found it intriguing and easy to follow along and enjoy. A male voice can be heard singing in a melismatic style, other voices can be heard to harmonize and add emphasis and a fullness to certain parts of the song. Another reason is because of the sound of the Santur that’s a stringed zither type instrument that is hammered but sounds as though it is being plucked. Other instruments that can be heard are drum-like beats and an oud that is like a guitar and there is the sound of a violin like instrument. Different aspects of this song that I can recognize are the quarter notes commonly used in this kind of music; quarter notes are in-between notes of the western scale.
