I selected the song Tunak Tunak Tun which was sung by Daler Mehndi and released 1998. The history of this music video is very powerful and important in my opinion. Before this music video was released people believed that the only reason that his music videos were successful was because they featured beautiful girls and the productions were large and lavish and glamorous. When Daler was planning for this music video he decided that instead of the glitz and glamour and women he decided that this video would not feature any women. He did this to make a statement that it wasn’t the videos that got people to listen to his music but instead the music itself and the message he was portraying. 

I chose this song because when I was in high school my tennis team included two girls on Indian heritage. One of the coolest moments from my time on the team with those girls was all the things that I learned about the vulture. Tunak Tunak Tun was the first song that they ever introduced us to so it will forever be a special song to me because getting to learn about their culture was so cool and special.
