The song that I chose was Beautiful Kahana by Jerry Byrd. Jerry Byrd is from Hawaii and played the steel guitar in country and Hawaiian music and he was also a songwriter. In this performance, Byrd was performing on the steel guitar, while Hiram Olsen Jr was playing the rhythm guitar and vocals, Dennis Keahokalole was playing the ukulele and vocals, and Gary Aiko was playing bass and vocals. I found this song while looking through country music artists from Hawaii. I was instantly drawn to his music because of the main sound of the steel guitar in this song. The sounds in this song consist of the guitar, ukelele, and bass as well as singing. I found the singing was soft and dreamy and the instruments also carried that sound. I chose this song because I listen to a lot of country music that uses steel guitar, so I enjoyed hearing the instrument played in a different genre.
