The song I chose is called Hot, Hot, Hot and is made by a Samoan Island group called Polymite Express. This was recently released in 2022, and is a cover of the song under the same name. I really enjoyed the upbeat feel of this song and the song is overall very catchy. It is a very high tempo song. It reminds me of a song you would play during a party on a beach. It is interesting that the beginning of this song, there is no instruments and it is the group just repeatedly saying “Ole, Ole”, but immediately following that, all sorts of instruments flood into the song including trumpets, keyboard pianos, and drums. For me, personally, I have heard this song before, so this also gives me nostalgic value as well. I don’t think that there is a very important message within the lyrics of this song. i think it is just a overall fun song with funny lyrics as the words “Hot, hot, hot are used very often and repetitively. I like how this is unique Oceania music, but it also gives tropical music vibes from America as well.
