I found this song on Spotify, and chose it initially because I really liked the sound and rhythm of it. I also thought it was a great example of an instrument deeply rooted and integrated into the tradition of Chinese music being showcased, specifically in an example of one of their folk songs, which are commonly known to share much of what every day life is like to the culture it is created from. In this way, folk music is a means to experience feelings and emotions that have been felt by several generations through the particular song. I thought it was neat that this album is dedicated specifically to Chinese bamboo flute music, which gives us several examples of how this instrument is used and showcased in traditional Chinese music, folk music being one of course, as seen in this song.
