This song was sung by Thomas A. Dorsey but it was actually created by the main singer, Elvis Presley. This is more of a cover, and this is one of many African American gospel songs that are in the United States. The song begins with a couple of instruments playing, with the singing voice coming in after a little bit. The instruments that were played in this song, was a stringed guitar, which it seems like it’s the bass, and a drum, along with their cymbal/s. Thomas A. Dorsey starts singing very deep and with a lot of vibrato, from when he started, to when the song ended. There was also high notes, accompanied with backup voices. They sung with a very deep voice too, with some high notes as well. Thomas’s voice then starts crescendo and increasing more in the middle of the song, with the backup voices being able to be heard more louder and clearer each time. The purpose of this song is about telling somewhat a piece of advice and a short story, that there will be peace anywhere, as it says in the title, in the valley. That the Lord will also help them and that they won’t give up, because there will be peace after all, even though it might seem like it might not. That they will keep going for that reason. The reason why I choose this song is, because I liked how the person who did this cover of Elvis Presley’s song, controlled their voice really great. Along with the backup singers that first started slow and quiet, to then becoming more louder and clear. I found this song in youtube/google.
