While looking for an oceanic song, I came across this song labeled, “Australian Didgeridoo with a Twist” which is from Yanni’s album “From the Vault,” where Yanni explores various types of world music for live tour performances. The song features two instrumentalists, one playing the didgeridoo and the other using hollowed tubing. The “twist” was the fact that the tubing is played in a unique way by hitting and dragging it on the ground, creating a distinct rhythm. The song starts with the didgeridoo and introduces the tubing at 3:10, adding a unique element to the traditional didgeridoo sound. I selected this piece because I found the combination of these two instruments to be highly creative and enjoyable to listen to.
