This video is titled “Masaka Kids Africana Dancing This is Africa” and it mainly features children dancing to a familiar song known as “This is Africa.” When we entered this unit, I knew that I wanted to find something for my song share with children, as I have recently seen videos just like this one. What I found so interesting is that the children are so happy/upbeat when they are dancing, singing, and playing instruments. It seems as if this makes there day that much better when they participate. I could even recognize some of the instruments as ones we have discussed in class too. For example the drums, the hitting of the glass bottle (like the bell we did in class), and something similar to the banjo which originated in Africa. Overall, the videos of this group in particular are very interesting, cute, and so fun to watch which was the main reason I picked one as my song share for this week!
