I chose a famous song called 99 Luftballons sung by the German band, Nena. I was excited to find out that this chapters focus was Europe as I studied the German language in High School. There were no listening examples from Germany and I thought that it might be valuable to share one. I think this song is so interesting because of the meaning it holds to the country while being a catchy song for everyone. While doing some research behind the song, I found that it is about the dreams of the German people that were lost after World War II and the 99 balloons represent the many dreams each person had. You might find this song to sound familiar and this is because there is an English version called 99 Red Balloons. Below I have attached the German Version!
