The song: ตั้งแต่มีเธอฉันมีความสุข by Violette Walker is a song about romance and how she had been hurt before in past relationships until she met her current love and he makes everything better and makes up for the bad experiences she has had in the past.

I found the recording after doing a search for “Laos Top Hits”. This is song #19 for the iTunes playlist of the top hits in Laos, and it was the first song that I could find that actually seemed as though it was in a language other than English. The majority of the songs on their Top 100 playlist are songs that are on our Top 100 playlist in the United States, such as “Peaches” by Justin Bieber, “thank u, next” by Ariana Grande, and more. This was surprising to me because it shows the large reach our music has, but I also chose this song because I wanted to hear what a top hit in Laos actually sounds like. It has very similar characteristics to our music in the United States, which may show some Western influence on the music in Laos.
