Raag Sindhu Bhairavi by Ustad Ali Akbar Khan is a very intricate piece of music. I chose this song because they are having a total jam session, and I enjoy longer pieces of music that convey meaning and journey. The Sarod is the main instrument being played by Usted Ali Akbar Khan. You can also hear a very light Tambora playing in the background. This piece is almost 20 minutes long, but around the 5-minute mark, you can hear a transition from the alap, which consists of an interpretive jor, to a pseudo-gat. Then after a minute, the song goes back into a jor until tablas and come in and create a steady tala at around 7 minutes 30 seconds which starts the true gat, consisting of measured composition and a little improvisation.
