I chose the song “One Love” by Bob Marley. My reason for choosing this song was because I wanted to listen to more Bob Marley as I have limited experience with his music in my lifetime. 

Although it may be familiar in western culture, the song clearly demonstrates strong ties to Bob Marley’s origin as a Jamaican reggae artist (not to say that he ever changed). The standard reggae beat is present along with a steel drum, keyboard, guitar, and bass. Bob Marley is the lead singer but there are also background singers. 

I also chose this song because it was in English, making it easy for me to understand. The vibe of the song is obviously positive and upbeat, and the lyrics are no different. It is a song primarily about coming together as people.
