White Snow in Early Spring or yang chun bai xue, Chinese pronunciation, is a traditional Chinese piece. It’s thought to be composed by Shi Kuang who was born in the year 535 and was blind from birth. This recording is of Lingling YU a teacher of Chinese traditional music. The only instrument is the Pipa or the “Chinese Lute”. Having a smooth yet lively melody it’s supposed to make you feel like you’re passing through winter. The whole piece seems very repetitive until the end where it becomes very fast pace and lively. I chose this song because I listened to it in class and wanted to do my own research.
