This song was originally written for Judy Garland in the Wizard of Oz and won awards for its role in the film. In 2011, Israel Kamakawiwoʻole wrote a cover of it and it has since been one of the most popular songs of all time. He was from Hawaii and it has been a traditional song to play in Hawaii over the years. The song is pretty much just him and his guitar. I chose this example because everyone knows this song, it is played and was covered in the region we are studying, and it is a classic.
