I chose this French pop song by the famous Belgian artist Stromae.  I found the music video on Youtube, but my interest in this song started in my French class in 8th grade.  The meaning of this song is a very personal but can be applicable to anyone.  The song refers to Stromae’s father and his absence in his life and the worries he has becoming a good father with no memories or influence of his own.  I think this song is a really great example of the music that influences French culture since a lot of French pop music is about current and ongoing issues.
